Waid Park – 4 mile hike (Moderate)
November 20 (9 am – 12 noon)

Colorful Trails Hiking Series is a morning program featuring 6 different hikes where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the beautifully diverse landscape of Franklin County and lend your eye to help identify trees of interest. Our master naturalist will ensure we stay in the right family of trees. Guided hikes will be held every Tuesday from October 16 through November 20. Hikers of all skill-levels are welcome.

With over 500 acres for rustic exploration we will travel through history as we pass deconstructed moonshine stills, and see beautiful rock outcroppings along the Pigg River. We’re going to end the last hike of the series with a party! Following the hike participants are welcome to join us for a picnic at the Waid Park Shelter.

Online registration is available. Ages 10 & up must be accompanied by an adult 18+. Participants will meet at the Waid Park Shelter.

Cost is $7 per hike or $30 for all 6 hikes. For more information, visit or call (540) 483-9293.
